Royale Weekly Mailer Monday, August 8 - Sunday August 15

Another week, another batch of fun.Tuesday, August 9: Theron Twneter will be manning the DJ decks tonight back from his retirement. This is just such a night. Expect a nice crowd early, too, as the weekly Beer Showcase is held, with various new and notable offerings coming your way every Tuesday. In short: great music, great beer tonight.Wednesday, August 10: It’s mid-week. In some cultures that means dinner-and-a-drink. Including this here American one. Join us for some theme-free fun.Thursday, August 11: Ain’t no DJ like JJ. Not a one of ‘em. Expect awesome garage, power pop, pysch and a pinch of punk and hard rock. Good times stuff, indeed. Got a request? Buy JJ a Miller Lite and start talking.Friday, August 12: You might know Robert Griffin from his stints behind our bar. But do you know him as a songwriter from the band Prisonshake? Or as the label head of Scat Records? Or as the man who spins a set encompassing jazz-to-metal? To listen to Robert’s record collection is a treat, indeed, with the volume rising as sun travels west.Saturday, August 13: Joe Schwab, as owner of Euclid Records, is now a label chief, himself. Recently, his Euclid imprint’s released music by the Painkillers, Sleepy Kitty and Troubabour Dali. So maybe we’ll get a hit of those groups, as well as the widest selection of music possible; after all, the guy’s got a massive collection of his own, and has a whole shop to pull from for his monthly run at the Royale’s ones-and-twos. Mega fun.Sunday, August 14: It’s Cocktail Museum Sunday. Classic drinks, themed weekly. Some you probably won’t know, all are ones you should get to know. Authenticity served here.News and Notes: After some prodding, some new titles have hit our book shelf. Come in, read for a spell. Or take one home, then bring it back when you’re done. Got a quality book in need of a home? Bring it down for that good feeling you get from sharing. Get back to your summer reading club roots at Club Royal.Speaking of books, our good friends at Pudd’nhead Books are moving, just across the street and down a spell. Read about their move (and big August sale) here: http://tinyurl.com/3ktxeul.Oh, yeah! We’re composting. With one of our staff members (guess which?) running a large garden, we’re working more our food waste into renewable compost. Trying to do the right thing, that’s what we do.
