Spinning Saturday: Pokey LaFarge!

There's been no lack of quality entertainment at The Royale over the past week, with quality stuff on tap for this weekend, as well. Following on the heels of the unexpectedly successful quirks of the Festivus Celebration and last night's Pigtail Promenade, the weekend just got a little brighter with the addition of Pokey LaFarge to the DJ schedule. Normally seen performing at The Royale during the annual Derby Day party, the well-regarded songman will be spinning records from his vast vinyl collection this Saturday evening, playing the type of material that's made him a sensation not only in St. Louis, but around the country and in Europe. As is usual at The Royale, DJ sets begin at 10 p.m. and run until close.While many a person takes New Year's Day as one of quiet contemplation and slow recovery, we'd encourage you to get your healing done early on Saturday, then come down to witness of STL's coolest performers. This Saturday, January 1, Pokey LaFarge will be wearing a new hat, working the ones-and-twos with style and abandon.
