Royale Weekly MailerMonday, August 29 - Sunday, September 4After a major week, including our debut of the St. Louis Feast Day celebration here, along with a large chunk of our staff enjoying the heck out of themselves at LouFest, we’re playing it a bit easier this week. Good times every night, plus a few special treats.Art Event: Thursday! From our main man, Dana Smith:Since December of 2010, I've been working on what has become three 36x36 inch canvases of the bar at The Royale. These pieces will be on display starting September 1 and we'll kick it off with an informal opening from 8 pm-10 pm. Also on display will be three older paintings of Mark Early, Steve Scariano and Typo Cafe (now home to STL-STyLe). DJ Mark Early will also be spinning records throughout the night.DJ Schedule for the WeekTuesday, 8/30: 3 Minute Record (writers of local blog spin three-minute songs ‘til close)*Thursday,9/1: Mark Early (new wave, no wave, punk, disco, the way retro was meant to be spun)Friday, 9/2: Jim Utz (rock, soul, R/B, from the famed Vintage Vinyl hype man)Saturday, 9/3: Matt Harnish with the St. Louis Shuffle: Tower Groove Carnival Pre-Party Edition (all STL music, all night)http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=123327057765946* Read 3minuterecord.wordpress.com today!Every WeekWe start with the week with Vinyl Side Mondays.
