We have adopted three families for the holidays for the 100 Neediest Cases-cases come through Big Brother Big Sister Saint Louis. Our second family we adopted:This household consists of a single mother and a teenage boy, age 13. The mother was diagnosed with bi-polar/schizophrenia and suffers from anxiety and depression. Her son has been living with autism and severe asthma since the age of 9. Her rent is nearly the amount of the disability stipend she receives monthly. It is difficult to keep up with her son school and medical needs all while managing her health. She struggles to pay the utilities and other expenses involved in running a household. She tries to stay active by volunteering at her son's school twice a week.
